Flowers

Small collection of NFTs, inspired by flowers.

One of my first collections, created during the early stages of my approach to digital art, which forms part of the natural habitat of Polymita Picta in Web3.

Digital artwork belonging to the 'Flores' (Flowers) collection by Axel Doyel Studio. Through a symmetrical radial bloom in cobalt blue, solar yellow, and neon magenta, this piece reinterprets the botanical architecture and fragility of endangered wild flora. It functions as an immutable digital asset on Web3 designed as an environmental artivism manifesto against deforestation, the loss of biomes, and the impact of climate change.

Each petal is a life in full color.

Flores is an NFT collection that, on a personal level, stands out as one of my earliest bodies of work, created prior to Polymita Picta. It is part of my initial exploration into digital art, reflecting everything I discovered and experimented with when beginning my artistic journey in this medium.

Unintentionally, this collection gave rise in my mind to what would eventually become my core collection: Polymita Picta.

Flores emerges within my digital landscape to serve as support and setting for Polymita Picta, becoming the flora and habitat of the snails in the digital realm. In this way, both collections become inseparable elements that come together to deliver an explosion of color and form across Web3.

These works draw upon elements of more conventional graphic art, as well as various painterly techniques, including watercolor.

At times, the color washes toward the center of each flower bear an intimate relationship to the pooling marks—a kind of island—characteristic of watercolor glazes. Within them, the subtle transition of color feels harmonious: there are no ruptures or divergent forces.

These forms create an ebb and flow of vibrant, lively colors that seek to keep moving forward in freedom, reminding us of one of life's most essential values.

It is impossible to tell whether the color escapes into infinity, toward the center of our eyes, or whether we are the ones enveloped in waves that reach far beyond what our hands can embrace.

Flores is a collection that reminds the viewer of the beauty of plant life and how, just like wildlife, it is under constant threat. The increasingly severe wildfires across different times of the year and all over the globe are an urgent alarm and a constant reminder of how vital it is to act right now. This is not about simply labeling it as part of seasons like summer. Extreme temperatures are a direct consequence of the damage to which we are subjecting the planet and its equilibrium—a balance that the Earth can only maintain if we, as what we truly are, just another species, do not violate the ecosystem that we all depend on for the full development of our lives.
